WELCOME TO ECPFO

The ECPFO was founded and registered on May 13, 1993 under the Indian Societies Registration Act and the presidentship of veteran Mr. Prataprao Bhosale, the then Member of Parliament. The ECPFO – an International Organization committed to the doctrines of EEC and EJM was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India, Mr. H.D. Deve Gowda on September 18, 1996 at Parliament House Annexe (Conference Center), New Delhi. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by the then Union Minister for Environment & Forests, Capt. Jai Narain Prasad Nishad. Graciously, on that solemn occasion the ECPFO’s souvenir was released which contains messages from the then President of India, Prime Minister of India, Speaker, Lok Sabha (Parliament), Minister of Environment and Forests, etc. It contains articles of various Union Ministers, environmentalists and from Mr. Maurice F. Strong, the then Secretary-General, United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) held at Rio, Brazil (1992).

ECPFO is envisaged as an independent non – governmental entity committed to promote International Environmental & Egalitarian Consumerism (IEEC) for balanced economic growth, sustainable development, healthy and productive life in harmony with nature with its prime objective being to save our planet – The earth, keep nature alive and safeguard consumer rights.

It also aims to protect human health from environmental de-gradation in order to improve the quality of life of the people through the doctrine of EEC & EJM. It continuously endeavours to conserve, protect and restore the health & integrity of Earth’s Eco system. It also undertakes consumer oriented environmental problems and seeking solutions through Environmental & Consumer justice movement.
